Vision
In our Forum we have a virtual sangha in which Alan’s students can exchange ideas about their practice and study. Some of us would like to work together to create the first international Contemplative Observatory, a retreat center where we could do long-term retreats, at a very low cost, and supporting Alan's international students that will come out from the 2 months retreats from the Mind Centre at Phuket Intenational Academy every year. We hope to inspire the creation of Contemplative Observatories in the entire world but in the meantime, we would encourage students from all countries to join us to create the first one.
The central training at the Contemplative Observatory, would be based onThe Vajra Essence, with its four central practices.
Alan has commented "As for the facilities themselves, it's imperative that they be well built from the beginning so that maintenance costs will be minimized over the long term, and they should be comfortably by international standards, so that even older aspiring yogis can meditate in comfort. Food should likewise be healthy, including vegetarian and non-vegetarian for those who need animal protein to maintain their health and vitality. We need to consider carefully whether a single lodge or multiple cabins is optimal, and there should be a meeting hall in which the yogis can gather for teachings, meditation, and meetings when necessary."
